Job description
The HSE Manager lead the Consultant’s Health, Safety, and Environnmental activities to ensure that the Employer’s HSE Policies are applied by all parties and to all project activities.
Detailed duties are described hereafter:
- Participate all aspects of the HSE process within the consultant’s organisation
- Own the HSE documentation and make updates in a timely manner as required
- Support other members of the Consultant’s technical team on HSE issues
- During the construction, installation and T&C phases, in collaboration with the Contractors’ HSE teams and the Consultant's Construction Management team, ensure that the works are carried out according to the applicable HSE policies, laws, and regulations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the Contractors’ HSE organisation and activities
- Provide relevant input for regular and ad-hoc reports
Profile
The candidate should have:
- BSc degree in relevant discipline;
- Minimum 18 years professional experience including:
- 10 years in the field of HSE management
- 10 years on similar projects (metro/electrified railway transport)
- Candidate will have extensive knowledge experience of the main construction methods used in the elevated and at-grade Metro and the safety requirements for the designs, according to international standards and accepted best practice.
- Proven experience of large, complex, multidisciplinary construction projects, including rail/metro
- Experience with projects funded by IFIs (eg EBRD, EIB, JICA, ...) would be an advantage
- Arabic: Native proficiency would be an advantage
- English: Bilingual proficiency
- Strong communications, coordination, and management skills
